New Black Panther National Chairman Hashim Nzinga said it is
time for black Americans to stand up to the "war" he says has been
declared on them and be willing to die and kill for freedom, Breitbart News reports.
Nzinga seemed to be addressing the state police and National Guard presence in Baltimore following riots that took place in the wake of the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who died of a spinal cord injury after being arrested earlier this month.
Nzinga, appearing on the New Black Panther Party’s "Black Power Radio," said America has "declared war on us." He called for a "black American sniper" and said fighters should be seen as the Founding Fathers who stood up to tyranny from England.
"So if we say we are at war, we should be applauded like George Washington. We should be applauded like Thomas Jefferson. We should be applauded like the Founding Fathers of the country," Nzinga said.
Fighters must be "willing to die or kill to save our babies and to save a black nation that is dying before our eyes," Nzinga said. "America is about protecting the rich and the powerful.
"This is not the hate hour; this is the love hour," he said. "We have to love ourselves enough to be willing to die or kill to save our babies and to save a black nation that is dying before our eyes."
