Trump Vows to Cut NY Taxes by 50 Percent

By Alexandra Ward
Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy joined billionaire Donald Trump at his Super Bowl Bash in Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday and heard first-hand from the real estate mogul what his key election plank would be if he chooses to run for governor of New York later this year.
Trump has been hinting for some time that he will challenge Democratic incumbent Andrew Cuomo in the 2014 New York gubernatorial race, but said previously that he will need the full support of the Republican Party.

"If we could have a unified party in New York . . . which we haven't had for a long time, many years . . . I would certainly give it very, very serious consideration, which I'm doing now," he told Newsmax TV's "The Steve Malzberg Show" last month.

"There's got to be total unity because it's three to one in New York, Democrats to Republicans. It's a very hard race to start off with, and the last thing you want to do is go into a primary with somebody that can't win and have to spend time, effort, and money on winning . . . So, if there's unity, I would certainly consider it very strongly, and I've told them that."

Trump has also alluded to his possible presidential aspirations.

"No one has any idea what's happening at the top. America is not headed in the right direction, and that worries me," he told Reuters in an interview last month. "I want to talk about what needs to be done."
